There is no certainty about the conditions in which coffee arrived in Colombia. Historical evidence indicates that the Jesuits brought grain seeds to Colombia around the year 1730.
The first coffee crops grew in the eastern part of the country. In 1835 began the commercial production and export of the first bags of coffee. From that moment, coffee cultivation spread to other areas of the country.
